Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1891, this particular example is a Third Model with the distinctive integral dust cover rail. Blade and sporting type rear sights, with full magazine. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight, "32 W.C.F." at the breech and "32 CAL." on the bottom of the brass cartridge elevator. The model designation is marked on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. All blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth forearm with iron end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate, with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Condition: Refinished. The barrel and magazine retain some scattered traces of blue finish with the balance an artificial smooth dark brown patina with some vise marks visible at breech end. The receiver retains some strong traces of blue in the protected areas with the balance a mottled brown/gray patina. There is some scattered minor pitting and spotting (mostly on the receiver). The right side of the buttstock has been repaired with filler material, otherwise the wood is very good with some minor handling marks and some chipping along the grain (mostly on the buttstock).
