Manufactured in 1886, this particular example is a Third Model with the distinctive integral dust cover rail. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight, "32 W.C.F." at the breech and "32 CAL." on the bottom of the brass cartridge elevator. The model designation is marked on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. Crudely fashioned replacement blade front, adjustable Marble's buckhorn rear sight and a mid range tang sight has been installed. Full magazine, all blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth forearm with iron end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate, with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Condition: Very fine. The barrel and magazine have a smooth smooth brown patina with 20% original blue finish remaining in the protected areas along the edge of the forearm and between the magazine. The receiver retains 60% thin original blue finish mixed with a smooth brown patina. The lever shows some faded original case colors in protected areas with the balance a smooth mottled gray. The wood is fine overall with scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
