This is an example of a Third Model Winchester 1873 rifle that was manufactured in 1887. Blade front and adjustable buckhorn rear sights. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/ King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight and the caliber marking, "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL". The top of the receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1873" and the serial number is on the lower tang. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate and storage compartment, (cleaning rod not included).

Condition: Very good. The metal surfaces have traces of blue with the balance a smooth mottled brown patina with scattered remnants of dried protective coating applied some time ago. The wood has also had a coat of varnish applied some time ago and most remains on the stock. Overall the wood shows some scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
