Winchester Model 1873 First Model saddle ring carbine, .44-40 cal., with thumbprint dust cover, serial #24873. The barrel and magazine tube show a lightly cleaned metal surfaces going back to patina with goodbarrel address; the frame has gone to brown with traces of blue mixed in. The stocks have been lightly sanded and refinished. The original small parts are retained; action good, bore rough, some screws replaced.These early carbines are hard to find and were in evidence of use at the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876 by the American Indian insurgents who left .44-40 cal. cartridge cases behind. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
