Winchester Model 1866 saddle ring carbine in .44 rimfire caliber showing original nickel finish, serial number 120224. The barrel and magazine tube show traces of original nickel drifted to gray brown patina with some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. The barrel address is good and fully legible. The original barrel band and carbine sight are retained. The frame shows 70% to 80% original nickel plate with some scratches and mars. The stocks are good withslight cracks, weathering around the butt plate and normal aging. The loading gate shows considerable original blue. The butt plate was never nickel plated and has gone to a chocolate brass patina. The right side of the lever shows a“CP” stamp which was probably South American police or Mexico. The bore is fair with rifling shallow but clean. Est.: $6,000-$12,000
