Winchester Model 1866 lever-action rifle, .44 rimfire caliber with early “Henry’s Patent” marked barrel. Serial #20308. The rifle remains in original very good condition showing 30-50% original blue mixing with a brown patina, some scattered erosion and surface pitting, mostly at the edges of the barrel, but generally good overall. The barrel shows a dovetail midway through the address where the sight had been repositioned and now the correct style rear sight is returned to the original dovetail. The frame is very sharp with great fit to the sideplates, and shows a good patina, matching to the forend cap and buttplate. The rifle shows correct and original to the period swing swivels, the action is good, the bore is only fair with a lot of use. The loading gate shows considerable traces of thin blue, the stocks are good with some light cleaning, small losses, a couple of cracks, and honest wear. Est: $6,000 - $12,000
