Winchester Model 1866 lever action rifle, .44 cal., 24” octagon barrel, blue finish, plain wood stocks, #68469. This “Yellow Boy” is in overall good condition showing traces of original blue on the barrel in protected areas, balance gone to a brown or plum finish, rear sight has been moved and original dovetail has been filled; the bore is overall good, the action good, markings clear and the frame, butt plate and for end tip show a pleasing patina; the two sling swivels are present and the wood is overall good with scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage and a repair to the right side of the butt stock where at one time, there appears to have been a plaque or coin (approx. 1-1/2” in diameter).
