Winchester Model 1866 'SRC' .44 Cal #64541
***Deactivated*** '3rd Model' Saddle Ring Carbine manufactured circa 1871. Features brass receiver, other metal parts blued, smooth wood furniture, 20" round barrel, full length magazine tube, blade front sight, "L" flip rear sight, lever latch, brass crescent buttplate with storage trap. Bore is fair to good condition, good rifling with dark grooves, frosted throughout. Barrel and mag tube are brown color, fairly smooth texture. Lever is dark gray color. Brass parts retain darker patina color, with small dents and other signs of use. Wood is good condition, dented and scratched, lightly varnished. Bolt face shows a raised circular protrusion with some marring or tool marks, appears to be the firing pin body protruding slightly beyond the replaceable head portion. Left protrusion of firing pin head broken / missing. Firing pin altered (shortened? or improperly assembled or installed?) so hammer hits frame, not the firing pin. Not capable of firing as modified, should be correctable, might just need cleaning and proper re-assembly.
Condition is NRA Very Good (Non-Firing)
