Manufactured in 1883, this Fourth Model is marked with the two line Winchester Repeating Arms address and King's Improvement patent information on the top barrel flat and the serial number is stamped on the tang behind the lever. Full length tube magazine, dovetailed brass blade front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The barrel and magazine tube are blue and the hammer, lever and buttplate were casehardened and mounted with a smooth forearm with a steel forend cap and straight grip stock with steel crescent buttplate with compartment containing an original four piece cleaning rod.

Condition: Very good plus. The barrel and magazine have a smooth brown patina with scattered strong traces of original blue finish. There are a few concentrated minor dents on the left side of the magazine near the muzzle. The hammer, lever and buttplate have a smooth mottled dark and silver gray patina with some minor pitting on the heel and toe of the buttplate. The wood is good. There are a couple of small moderate gouges on the top of the comb and a number of scattered small gouges and nicks. The stock remains solid. The barrel marking is clear. The action is very good.
