Winchester Model 1866 Henry marked saddle ring carbine, serial number 17505 in very good original condition with all matching serial numbers. The barrel and magazine tube show 20% to 40% original blue within a brownpatina, good sharp edges and crisp barrel address. The markings and edges are very sharp and there is just a small amount of erosion and pinprick pitting just starting along with light normal aging. The frameshows a uncleaned patina with well fitted side plates and only slight edge wear. The stocks are very good with some minor weathering and opening to the grain. The wood to metal fit is very good. The loading gateshows considerable original blue and the hammer and lever show traces of case hardening within their brown patina. The sights and bands are completely correct. The action is good and the bore is fair with aslight ring about halfway down. A strong 7 ½ on 1 to 10 scale and a very hard 1866 Henry marked carbine to improve or upgrade as they are very rare and expensive in any better condition. Note ** Henry rifles were made up
