Our Assessment: This is a Winchester Model 100 Semi-Auto rifle with a 22" barrel chambered in .308 Win. This model was made from 1961-1973, and with its classic styling is one of the best looking sporting semi-auto rifles ever made. Anyone who hunts in the woods will appreciate its short 22" barrel and fast handling characteristics for fast shots on running game. This will be a nice setup for hunting season.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to a hooded, serrated, ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a folding "U"-notch with white triangle aiming reference dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The left-rear of the receiver is drilled, tapped and filled for a receiver sight (none present). The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped with a Weaver rail and rings holding a Simmons Wide Angle 3-9x scope with duplex reticle.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece wood with pressed basketweave and oak leaf texturing, capped pistol grip, straight comb, checkered black plastic buttplate and sling swivels front and rear. The stock has scattered light scratches, scuffs and compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has light wear and some residue in the checkering. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly and the rifling is sharp. There is infrequent minor erosion in the bore, mostly at the muzzle-end. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some light nicks, scuffs and handling marks, most notable on the trigger guard. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The consignor asserts that it was returned to Winchester under recall for the factory firing pin upgrade. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a more thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with the installed scope and a single 4-round magazine.
