Vintage take-down slide-action repeating shotgun chambered for 2 3/4" 12 gauge shells, manufactured in New Haven, CT circa 1904. Features a blued finish, cut-down 20.25" barrel, installed Cutts Compensator with silver bead front sight & removable Spreader choke, 5 round tube magazine, smooth trigger, exposed hammer with knurled spur, single action bar, grooved walnut slide handle and smooth semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with round knob, checkered metal buttplate & 13 ¾” LOP. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver and takedown extension. Shotgun shows age with bluing retained only in the protected areas and the vast majority of the metal surfaces bearing an aged dark brown or grey patina. The magazine band has been moved forward slightly evident by the silhouette of its former location on the barrel & magazine tube. Action is sound, the bore has good luster with what appears to be scattered light pitting, the markings are good and the walnut stocks are near good with blemishes & a couple cracks in the slide handle. Compensator appears to be threaded to a collar and held by a set screw; set screw slot damaged; collar probably soldered to barrel.
Condition is NRA Fair.
