Winchester 1892 lever action rifle, 38/40 caliber, Serial #165523. The rifle is overall fair condition with a 24” octagon barrel. The barrel has gone entirely to a brown patina with some surface rust and erosion present, particularlyalong the edges of the fore end. The action has gone nearly entirely to patina except for some on the loading gate and hammer. There is moderate surface erosion and rust present on the action and lever as well. The smooth wood stocks are infair condition with numerous mars and dents. The butt stock is weathered and has shrunk at the wrist and toe. There are 1 ½” lateral cracks at the wrist on both sides of the stock. The bore is good, the action working and markings legible onthis old Winchester. This gun has seen hard use and been stored poorly but retains a good shootable bore and would benefit from some TLC. (C+R/PPT). Est.: $500-$1,000.
