Winchester 1886 special order rifle, .33 caliber, 24" round barrel, half magazine, takedown frame, Lyman ladder-type receiver sight, checkered pistol grip stock, with Winchester pistol grip cap, and mill steel factory shotgun buttplate. Serial#145182. The rifle remains in original near fine condition with 90-95% bright original blue, some just slight losses at the edges, a couple of minor scratches, a small amount of drifting on the forend cap and takedown lever. The marking aresharp, the edges are crisp, the stock is very good plus to near fine. The hammer shows 60% case hardening which is darkening, the lever shows traces of case hardening going to silver. The action is tight, the bore is excellent, thetakedown collar is snug. The rifle shows slight use and is crisp. There is a DW King blank in the rear sight dove tail and a Lyman white dot front sight in the original front dovetail. A collector's grade '86. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
