Winchester 1876 late Second Model lever action rifle, .45-60 cal., 28” octagon barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, #14732, with factory letter confirming caliber, octagon barrel and plain trigger; indicating received in warehouse on July27, 1881 and shipped from the warehouse on July 28, 1881 with 12 other arms to order number 26976. This ’76 is in overall very good un-molested condition showing a pleasing brown patina with original blue in protected areas and a lot oforiginal blue still on the loading tube, particularly at its entrance to the forend; the action is crisp, the markings good and the wood is overall good to very good with old mars and scratches to the butt stock from honest carry andstorage. A classic looking 1876 that was used but not abused with a limited production of only 63,871 between 1876 and 1897. (Antique). Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
