Made in 1907. Blade front and "1873" marked folding ladder rear sights, with the top of the barrel marked "WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING-ARMS.NEW HAVEN.CT. / KING'S-IMPROVEMENT- PATENTED-MARCH 29. 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860." and "44W.C.F." ahead and behind the rear sight. Three line "TRADE MARK" marking on the upper tang, with "44 CAL" on the elevator, integral dust cover rail, and saddle ring on the left side. Smooth straight grip stock with a single barrel band, crescent rifle iron buttplate and buttstock compartment. (cleaning rod not included). The accompanying copy of a Cody Firearms Museum Records Office sheet verifies serial number 620884 as a 1873 carbine, 44 caliber with a rifle butt, received in the warehouse on 7-11-07 and shipped on order number 109353, 8-17-07. Other information reads "Shipped to: New York Department; Back of Sheet - N.Y.D. 6624, 109353R, H.A.B.".

Condition: Fine, with approximately 30% thinning original blue finish, the balance a mottled dark patina showing areas of pin prick pitting and spotting. The right side plate shows some surface scratches from attempted cleaning. Stock is fine as refurbished, with pressure marks and scratches. Mechanically very good.
