Wilton-Mount Joy Pewter Pitcher, Cups & Tray Set
Featured in this lot is this Wilton-Mount Joy pewter pitcher, cups and serving tray set circa 1960-80s. Wilton was established in the 1930s as an iron and, later, brass foundry. They created "Armetale" in the 1960s, a proprietary aluminum alloy that was primarily utilized to imitate conventional pewter. Since then, the product ranges have grown to encompass a wide variety of traditional and modern styles. This set shows Southwest style geometric designs throughout the pitcher, cups and serving tray. The cups are not marked but the pitcher and tray are marked with three symbols and read, "Wilton Mount Joy PA. U.S.A.". They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years. No signs of major wear or damage is noted. The cups measure 4 5/8" in height, a bottom diameter of 3 7/8" and a width of 5 1/4". The pitcher measures a height of 9", 9" wide and a bottom diameter of 5 15/16". The tray measures 10 3/4" L x 18 1/2" W x 3/4" H. They have a collective weight of 8 pounds and 6 ounces.
