<B>Declaration Signer William Williams Autograph Document Signed</B></I> "<I>Wm. Williams</B></I>". One page, 8" x 6.25", np, 1776. An autograph document signed, reads: "<I>Dr. Wm Williams in acct. for guns or Fire Arms by him procured for ye use of ye colony. To 161 guns or Fire Arms procured as approved as…ordered.</B></I>" A Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut, Williams was a merchant and held many offices, including judge and state assemblyman. During the Revolution, he raised money and served as an officer, and after the war he helped write the Articles of Confederation. Great content, and very attractive format for display, and a desirable 1776-dated example for this Signer. Very fine condition; folds present; light overall toning.
