The work on hand ‘Pedestal’ is a pigment print by the contemporary artist William Wegman from 1994. He produced the work in 2009 in collaboration with the Fortune Cookie Project in a limited edition of only 7 prints. The work on hand is based on a photograph taken in 1994 and shows his Weimaraner Fay Ray on a pedestal.



The work is in very good condition. The dimensions of the framed work are 94.5 x 80 cm and the dimensions of the sheet are 56 x 43.3 cm. It is numbered lower left with ‘1/7’ and titled with ‘Pedestal’ and signed and dated lower right with ‘William Wegman 1994/09’.



William Wegman (b. 1943)

William Wegman was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts in 1943. In 1965 he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and in 1967 his Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Illinois. He had his first solo show in Paris in 1971 at the Galerie Sonnabend. In 1972 he took part in the Documenta 5 in Kassel and in 1976 he was also part of Documenta 6. His Weimaraner dogs Man Ray and Fay Ray often create the subject of his works. His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the globe, including the Modern Museum of Art in New York.
