William Taft typed letter signed on personal stationery, dated 2 April 1917, from New Haven, Connecticut, where he was teaching law at Yale, to Edward Bok, ''Ladies Home Journal'' editor, about a Red Cross page for the magazine. Once the U.S. entered WWI in April 1917, Bok transformed the magazine to encourage women to support the war effort, often featuring Red Cross ads and articles. Signed: ''Wm. H. Taft''. Minor toning to single page card style letter, measuring 7'' x 9.25'', else near fine.
