<B>William Taft Signed Document: Internal Revenue Distillery Warehouse Stamp.</B></I> William Howard Taft (1857-1930). Twenty-seventh president of the United States (1909-1913) and Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court (1921-1930), the only person in United States history to head two branches of the federal government. Taft considered this appointment his greatest accomplishment. This is a partially printed document signed "<I>Wm H. Taft</B></I>" as collector. The document is one page, 7.25" x 3.25", Cincinnati 1878. Internal Revenue Distillery Warehouse Stamp on green stock, incomplete. Boldly signed by Taft in space provided beside oval lithograph of President Zachary Taylor. Three-punch cancellation touches "H" in signature.
