In full: “Will Mr. Blaine appoint an hour this afternoon or tomorrow when he can see me in his office for two minutes officially.” Light scattered toning and soiling, otherwise fine condition. James G. Blaine served as secretary of state in 1881 under President Garfield and from 1889 to 1892 under President Harrison.
