<B>William T. Sherman Check Signed Twice.</B></I> A check drawn on The Mechanics' Bank, 7.5" x 3.25", St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 1, 1888; made out in Sherman's hand to "<I>self on order</B></I>". Signed "<I>W.T. Sherman</B></I>", adding a second endorsement signature with rank on verso. Cut cancellation does not affect either signature, although a few small tears at center lightly touch the top of the "<I>S</B></I>" and traverse the "<I>m</B></I>" on the endorsement. Accompanied by a <I>carte-de-visite </B></I>of Sherman in uniform. The CDV bears no photographic stamp and has been trimmed along the top.
