TLS signed "Chester C. Platt," one page, 8 x 10.5, State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead, August 15, 1913. Letter to S. B. Coston in New York City, in part: "The Governor appreciates your very kind letter and the encouragement you give him in his fight for good government. You can rest assured that he will continue to do his duty, regardless of political or personal consequences." Signed at the conclusion by Platt as secretary, and endorsed over the text by Sulzer, "Your friend, Wm. Sulzer." In fine condition. Platt owned a drugstore in Ithaca and is credited with the invention of the ice cream sundae; Sulzer served as governor of New York for less than a year before being impeached and removed from office over falsified campaign expenditure accounts.
