American statesman (1727–1819) who played a key role in the debates at the Constitutional Convention. ADS, signed “Wm. Sam. Johnson,” one page, 7.5 x 5, October 27, 1789. Document written to the treasurer of the state of Connecticut reads, in part: “Please to pay to Dr. Isaac Bronson…twenty pounds two shillings & five pence lawful money.” Reverse bears a financial accounting of expenditures. In very good condition, with repair on reverse to partial horizontal separation, small spot of paper loss to left edge, scattered toning, and light show-through from writing on reverse. RRAuction COA.
