A limited edition signed and numbered print titled "Cornfield Ironclad" by William R. McGrath, ca. 1993. The print depicts the C.S.S. Albemarle engaging the Union warships Miami and Southfield near Plymouth, North Carolina on April 19, 1864. The Albemarle was dubbed the "Cornfield Ironclad" because it was constructed in a cornfield along the Roanoke River near Scotland Neck, North Carolina. The print is artist signed and numbered 6 of 950 prints. It also has a charcoal rendering of the Albemarle by the artist in the lower left hand margin. It includes a certificate of authenticity signed by McGrath. It has been professionally framed and matted. It measures 37 x 27 inches framed. Shipping quoted upon sale.
