(pencil notation <I>Feb. 1882</B></I>), to Senator John Sherman of Ohio. It reads, "<I>The House sub Committee on the memorial services of the late President Garfield will be glad to meet your committee this afternoon. Can you arrange for such a meeting.</B></I>" Sherman replied below, "<I>It will be difficult as I have charge of pending Bill & we are writing our amendments. Why not come to my house this evening at 7:30 - J.S.</B></I>" Light soiling, folds.
