In full: “I am engaged tomorrow evening & I should have had very much pleasure in dining with you. Next week I shall be here the whole week; may I hope that one day you will do me the kindness to ask me again?” Letter is affixed to an identical size sheet. Central horizontal and vertical fold, one through a single letter of signature, and some mild toning, otherwise fine condition.
