Partly-printed DS, signed “William M. Tweed,” one page, 8.5 x 14, July 14, 1870. Receipt from the Bureau of Lamps and Gas of the Department of Public Works in New York City, for work done by John H. Keyser & Co. at the "Mayor's Office," "For Street Lamps, Collector of Assessment," and the "Department of Public Works," amounting to a total of $1,357.46. Signed at the conclusion by Boss Tweed as the Commissioner of Public Works. In fine condition. An unusual example as Tweed does not typically sign with his full given name of "William."
