William Jamieson, 1838 - a scarce teapot of tapering circular form on stepped domed foot with leaf-capped partly fluted curved spout, overhang rim chased with fruiting vines, hinged domed cover with bud finial, scroll handle with chased acanthus leaf thumbpiece (marked under base WJ and four Edinburgh hallmarks) some minor dents to body, otherwise in good condition. It is most unlikely that this teapot would have been made by Jamieson so the WJ mark is most probably as retailer. £300/500
