William IV silver Halfcrown, 1836. S-3834. Variety with
William IV silver Halfcrown, 1836. S-3834. Variety with "WW" in script. Rare type when in very high grade as this piece is. MS63 NGC: Choice Uncirculated, a lovely and unusual specimen having opalescent silvery white luster, glassy obverse and sheer-satin reverse, also boldly struck except for lower center part of shield. Seems possibly undergraded as MS63. Spink lists this in Unc. for $525 (about $1,050) and the valuation is justified because these coins are seldom found above AU condition. Many early British coins are selling for well over catalogue in the home country, and a great number of them are not so nice as may be found in this auction!

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
