William IV, Gold Proof Restrike 2 Mohurs, 1835, Calcutta Mint, R. S. initials incused on truncation on obv., lion and palm tree with denomination on rev: (Prid 3). Proof Restrike, Superb Mint State with reflective fields, Extremely Rare. The William Double Mohur is the single most enigmatic and popular coin in the whole of British India coin series. R. S. are initials of Robert Saunders, the Mint Master of the Calcutta Mint from January 1826 to January 1836.
