This letter to Secretary of the Treasury Franklin MacVeagh reads in full "I have your suggestion that a member of the Public Health Service be assigned as a member of the new industrial commission. I have referred your letter to Secretary Nagel, who has in immediate charge the consideration of these important appointments. / Sincerely yours," signed "<I>Wm H Taft</B></I>" in black ink.
