William Howard Taft Typed Letter Signed "Wm. H. Taft." One page, typed letter, 7" x 9.5", dated April 25, 1915, from New Haven, Connecticut. It was written to a Miss Margaret M. Hartman in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The letter was written to express Taft's regret that he could not attend an event that Miss Hartman had invited him to. It reads in part, "While I would like to accept your kind invitation, I regret it is impossible for me to do so. My engagement list is completely filled from now until the end of June and I do not see how I could add another to it." This letter was written when Taft had left the office of the president, and was serving as a professor at Yale law school.

The letter is in fine condition with no major flaws. The signature is in dark and bold letters, in black ink. The paper has the expected folds. Otherwise impeccable! A great lot from the only president to run both the Executive and Legislative branches of government!
