Signer of the Declaration of Independence from North Carolina (1742"“1790). Manuscript DS, signed "Wm. Hooper," one page, 7 x 9.5, March 5, 1768. Document indicting Andrew Sides for the theft of a "Feather Bed of the value of six pence," signed at the conclusion in ink by William Hooper as district attorney. Also endorsed on the reverse by John Frohock as the clerk of the Superior Court for Salisbury District, and certified by John Brevard, later a prominent supporter of the patriot cause during the American Revol. In very good condition, with splitting and minor paper loss along the lower horizontal fold; Hooper's signature is fine and bold.
