c1900 - Beautiful colorized chromolithograph, titled "Animus Canyon, Colorado." The copyright in the lower right corner indicates "1900 by the Detroit Publishing Company." This Detroit company held the patent on the "chromolitho" process. This spectacular print measures 22"x14.5", while the matted frame measures 32"x27". Jackson was born April 4, 1843, and died at the age of 99 in June 30, 1942. He was a civil war veteran, photographer, painter, writer and publisher. Jackson became the manager of the Detroit Publishing Co. In 1897, when he sold his entire stock of negatives to them. Recognized at the time as one of the last surviving Civil War veterans, Jackson passed away in 1942 and is buried in the Arlington cemetery. -62061
