William Henry Harrison: A Rare Large Hand-Colored Political Print. Titled "The North Bend Farmer and his Visitors", this print depicts Harrison in humble farmer's garb greeting Van Buren, Polk, and two other dandified Democrats who have just emerged from an elegant carriage. Harrison observes that the Gentlemen look fatigued and offers them "the fare of a log cabin with a western farmer's cheer…I have no champagne but can give you a mug of good cider." There is some light, unobtrusive water staining, and one darker stain at the lower right hand corner. Frame appears original. Very nice overall display presence. It is one of the most distinctive hand-colored political cartoons we have seen from that period, and one we have not before encountered. Measures 22.25" x 15.5" as framed.

Shipping: Framed (view shipping information)
