William Henry Harrison: A Unique 1840 Campaign Straight Razor with His Portrait and a Log Cabin with Cider Barrel "The Harrison Razor Universally Approved" it proudly declares on the handle, a comment clearly intended to apply to the razor and the candidate. Below is a finely detailed raised portrait with "Old Tippecanoe" in lettering curved above his head. The reverse features another dual-purpose slogan, "Confidently Recommended As To Quality", along with Harrison's trademark log cabin and cider barrel, all in relief. The handle is carved horn, which was used on many standard straight razors of this era. Condition is excellent, with the original blade undamaged. Light overall surface wear from use. We have never seen this distinctive item before. Few three dimensional collectibles have existed featuring these early presidents. Fewer still are clearly identifiable as campaign items as most simply depict the president perhaps adding his name, but failing to make clear whether they were for campaign use or simply to honor him. Original leatherette covered case in good shape but for minor flaking. Length: 6.25".

Shipping: Small Collectibles (view shipping information)
