In full: “I am in receipt of the copy of your book entitled ‘The American Judiciary’, which you so kindly sent me, and beg to thank you for the same.” He has added the handwritten postscript, “I shall read it with great pleasure.” Central horizontal fold passing through his signature, scattered creasing, an erased pencil notation, and a handwritten collector notation at the top edge, otherwise fine condition.
