In part: “The Secretary of the Treasury seems to improve in health. He is now havened at Portland. I will communicate your suggestion to him. There is no cabinet place so trying to a man as the State, except the War which needs a constitution of elastic steel.” Intersecting folds and scattered toning, otherwise fine condition.
