William H Harrison Discourse on Aborigines Ohio
William Henry Harrison: A Discourse on the Aborigines of the Valley of the Ohio (Cincinnati: Office of the Cincinnati Express, 1838), 51 pages, fold-out map, removed from the original pamphlet binding, re-bound in black cloth, 8vo (5.75” x 9”). This pamphlet was published three years before noted War of 1812 “Indian fighter” William Henry (“Tippecanoe”) Harrison was inaugurated Ninth President of the United States. After delivering the longest inaugural address in U.S. history-he rambled on for nearly two hours in cold rain without wearing his overcoat-Harrison contracted pneumonia and pleurisy. When he died on April 4, 1841, the former war hero had been in office for exactly one month. The pages are in fair condition: the half-title page is thoroughly stained, and the title page and text show signs of water staining and soiling. The binding is in very good condition with minimal wear.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
