English rear-admiral and Arctic explorer (1790–1855) best known for his 1819–1820 expedition through the Parry Channel, probably the most successful in the long quest for the Northwest Passage. ALS signed “W. Parry,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 7 x 9, April 18, 1829. Handwritten letter to famed Arctic explorer John Franklin, in part: "No letters have yet reached me for you…I write, therefore, merely to say that, on our mutual business, nothing more has transpired, nor indeed is any-thing more likely to transpire till your return. I was much pleased with our visit to Ross's Ship, and am to meet him at Beauforts at dinner on Monday." In fine condition.
