British minister and social reformer (1829–1912) best known as the founder and first “General” of the Salvation Army. Vintage matte-finish 5 x 7 photo of Booth in his Salvation Army uniform, affixed to its original 8 x 9.75 off-white Salvation Army mount, signed in black ink in the border of the image and mat, “William Booth, October 12th, 1911.” Small tear to right border of mount, as well as mild toning, some light surface marks to image, and a bit of skipping to date due to raised edge, otherwise fine condition.
