Artist and writer (1892–1942) best known for his work on the American West. ALS signed “Will James ’29,” one page, 7 x 10.25, August 29, 1929. Letter to a collector. In full: “Thanks for your good letter—I am sending you my autograph but it being so humble I don’t know how it will fit in with those Presidents, Kings and Queens which you have, so I thought I’d add on a sketch.” At the bottom of the page, James has added a nice ink sketch of a horse. Scattered creases, otherwise fine condition.
