British physician (1865–1940) known for his medical missionary work in Newfoundland and Labrador. Three items: an original vintage ink sketch of a man on a small patch of ice in the middle of the ocean on a 5.5 x 6.5 off-white sheet, signed at the bottom, “Greetings from an ice fan, Wilfred T. Grenfell,” and also signed by Ann Grenfell; a fountain pen signature and inscription, “Best of good wishes to Marion Deane—Wilfred T. Grenfell, Sept. 1923, Labrador Coast,” on an off-white 5 x 4 sheet; and a TLS, one page, 8 x 10, September 8, 1932, acknowledging the signature and mentioning stamp collecting. In overall very good condition.
