Wild Bill Elliott's screen-worn coat from his starring role as Sam Colton in the 1946 Republic Pictures Western film Plainsman and the Lady. The dark maroon coat features thin orange pinstripes, two faux flap pockets, and two brown buttons for closure. The interior is lined in gray satin, with a Western Costume Co. tag sewn inside the right inner breast pocket, stamped "No. 31286," and annotated in ink: "Name: Bill Elliott, Chest: 41." A modern Western Costume barcode is also affixed in the collar. In fine condition, with staining to the interior lining.
