Whitney Model 1841 U.S. percussion rifle, .54 cal., 33” round barrel, brass barrel bands, trigger guard, butt plate, reverse side plate and patch box; wood stock, lock plate dated 1850. This gun is in overall good condition showing a dark patina on metal surfaces with scattered areas of erosion, nicks and scratches on the barrel and lock mechanism, two sling swivels; brass tipped iron ramrod, dark bore, action needs adjustment; wood stock is in overall good condition showing scattered nicks, mars, scratches from carry and storage including old carving of “EARL” on the left fore stock; two inspectors’ cartouches on the left side of the stock above the trigger guard; there is a large carved “B” inside the brass patchbox and US stamped on the top of the brass butt plate.
