Whitney .36 cal., Navy revolver, period nickel plated and martially inspected, #2278. The revolver shows approx. 50%-70% old and of the period drifting nickel finish, areas that nickel has lifted show some beginning pitting anderosion; the left side of the frame is inspected with initials FCW, the left grip at top shows inspector’s cartouche which appears to be AW and grips are at least very good; action good; interior fine to near excellent. A number ofthese Whitney’s were believed to have been nickel plated for Naval use. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
