Lot of 4 labor receipts from superintendent RH Morrow, all dated 1862, Virginia City, N.T. Black print on blue paper. 4 x 7.5" The White & Murphy Gold and Silver Mining Co. was incorporated in April 1861, for 210 feet of the Comstock Lode, bounded on the north by the Kinney Claim and on the south by the Dick Sides Claim. It was capitalized at $126,000; 840 shares $150 per. It was to become part of the richest Bonanza Mine on the Comstock: on June 7th, 1867 the Consolidated Virginia Mining Company was organized, capitalized at $2,320,000; 1160 shares at $2000 per. The new company was composed of the Sides Claim of 500 feet; the White & Murphy Claim, 210 feet; the Kinney claim, 50 feet; the Central No. 2 Claim, 100 feet, lying north of an adjoining the Kinney Claim and the California Claim, 300 feet north and adjoining the Central No. 2.
