What the Navy is Doing Lot (Lot of 10) WWI What the Navy is Doing Lot
What the Navy is Doing Lot (Lot of 10) This lot includes 10 posters that feature news about the United States Navy. They are small posters which were printed with a small newsworthy story about the U.S. Navy and several pictures. They were used to promote recruitment and as well as morale and patriotic spirit at home. The posters included are: "The Navy That Flies," "And Home Comes the Soldier," "The Navy Brings 'Em Back Too," "Converted Yacht Makes Huns Surrender" x 3, "To The Glory of Our Destroyers," "Heroes of the Deep," and "The King Says We Are OK." All posters measure 14"x 17" and are unsigned. Each of these posters tells of some glory of the U.S. Navy, for instance, the "Converted Yacht Makes Huns Surrender" poster, relays an amazing story about a ship that was once a pleasure yacht called the Venetia. The ship was then taken into the Navy and became part of the "Suicide Fleet" and was credited with damaging the U-39, which was so disabled and damaged it was forced to seek refuge and shelter in Cartagena Harbor. Stories like these were used to attract more sailors and to bolster hopes at home! A fantastic lot of Navy accomplishments, get them today!

Condition-The Navy That Flies-Good; all four corners are torn off from tape being applied, adhesive stain on center of image, tape still present on several corners.
